Keyed alike means key coded to the same key number. This option provides
"same key" convenience and eliminates the needs for multiple keys where numerous
locks and access is needed.

Keyed different means that locks are keyed differently. Different set of keys are required to unlock each lock.

- What is protect-a-lock (PK)?
Protect-a-lock featured door lockset allows the contractor's access to the house during construction, repair or sale until such time that the home owner/occupant takes possession of property. All (PK) featured lockset comes with 2 home owner keys per lock and 1 contractor key per order. Use of the home owner key will permanently lock out the contractor key.

- What is master keyed (MK)?
In master keyed system, master key can open all locks in the system although each lockset has its own unique key. Master keyed lockset are ideal for permitting supervisory, contractors or emergency access. Use of the home owner key will not lock out the master key. All master keyed lockset includes 2 home owner keys per lock and 1 master key per order.

- What is junior master keyed (JMK)?
In our Junior Master Keyed system, both master key and the home owner key can open the same lockset. User of the home owner key will not lock out the master key and all the home owner keys are the same. It is ideal for customers who need the same set of home owner key code within their master keyed system. All junior master keyed lockset includes 2 home owner keys per lock and 1 master key per order.

- What is master keyed with protect-a-lock (MPK)?
Master keyed lockset with protect-a-lock featured provides 3 functions: - Master key access (1 key / order)
- Builder / contractor key access (1 key / order)
- Home owner / occupant key access (2 keys / lock)
Use of the home owner key will permanently lock out the builder key while master key will not be locked out.
